    I.Polyamide (PA)

    Polyamide (PA), also known as nylon, contains a repeating structural unit of an acylamino group (-CO-NH-) on the main chain. It is a linear thermoplastic polymer and one of the important polymer materials. Common types of polyamides are PA6, PA66, PA56, PA46, PA11, PA12, PA1010, PA6T, PA9T and so on.

    In recent decades, polyamide has been became as the main polymer for engineering materials and spinning materials. Among them, polyamide 6 and 66 have been particularly in many commercial polymer fields. Now, special polyamide products are also regarded as key development areas in China, including high mobility polyamides, high temperature polyamides, long carbon chain polyamides, bio-based polyamides.

    Joyou Chem has developed a unique polyamide process which based on the long-term proven proprietary technologies., and its own proprietary technology covers the process not only for PA66, but also for various other polyamide products, co-polyamide products, etc.


    II.Advanced PA66 Process

    Process flow diagram:PA66 is based on adipic acid and hexanediamine as raw materials The initial step in making nylon is to mix the acid and the amine to make salt.  This step is usually referred to as “salt strike” is performed to make a 58% solution which is stored for polymerization later.
